The Austrian artist's residency-born film and sculptural work travels to Vienna’s Korean Cultural Center, a new Seoul exhibition, and the Winterthur photography museum.

Kaja’s time in Corsicana produced All These Dwellings Are Temporary, a split-screen film pairing footage of contemporary global political unrest with slow, quiet scenes of rural Texas life—the region’s first oil well, car rides with fellow residents—shot during her stay. The work, alongside laser-etched copper plates that engage the idea of “scansion” notation, coined by Alexander Pope for his 18th-century translation of Shakespearean poetry, showed recently at the Korean Cultural Center (through June 5, 2026). The idea of poetic sculptural rhythm and confusion in constellation with reality traveled to Seoul, where Kaja produced a new sculptural video work linking Texas, Austria, and Asia. In August, she was invited to present at Switzerland’s prestigious Winterthur contemporary photography museum, bringing sculptural and chemical photographic experiments (with cyanotype transfers onto aluminum) that began in Corsicana with Cupio Dissolvi—processes that bridge sculpture and photography.

“Corsicana was one of the most breathtaking and overwhelming times that I've experienced in a residency,” she says of a time that saw her first movie-making and a new questioning of media's shaping of reality. “Somehow Corsicana has made me very confused in the best way possible, and I'm still trying to grasp all the puzzle pieces.”
